Our Adult study groups at First United Methodist Church Coppell offers adults opportunities to grow in faith and discipleship-growing closer to God and others in the shared experiences of prayer, study, reflection and small-group discussion./files/Store Downloads/disciple logo.gif

First United Methodist Church Coppell offers Disciple Bible Study classes for all who are interested.  The classes run 32-34 weeks with a weekly meeting lasting two-hours.  New classes forming in August 2010.

Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study
This 34-week in-depth study of the Old and New Testaments emphasizes the wholeness of the Bible as the revelation of God. DISCIPLE aims at life application, faithful discipleship and transformation (not just knowledge and information). This is the base course for all other long-term Disciple Bible Study.  New classes forming in August 2010.

Disciple II: Into the Word - Into the World
This 32-week study selects specific portions of the Old and New Testament with concentration on Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts.  Disciple I is strongly suggested prior to taking Disciple II.  New classes forming in August 2010.

Disciple III: Remember Who You Are
This 32-week
 study of the Old Testament Prophets and the letters of Paul that focus on God's call to faithfulness and using the gifts given to us for living out God's call in our lives. Disciple I is strongly suggested prior to taking Disciple III.  New classes forming in August 2010.


Story of Christianity (Protestant Reformation to the Present)
This advanced study group reads texts at a graduate college level to study the history and theology of Christianity as it has been lived and witnessed in the worldwide Church. 

  • Sundays (every other week), 2:30-4:00 pm in the Library
  • Book:  Story of Christianity II (available online & local stores)
  • Led by Jeanne Crandall
