Austin Street Center, a homeless shelter in Dallas, is FUMC Coppell’s Mission of the Month for October. Founded in 1983, Austin Street Center is an emergency homeless shelter in Dallas that serves men (ages 45 +) and women (ages 18+). More than 400 men and women stay at this shelter each night. In addition to offering the basics of a safe place to sleep, showers, meals, and clothing, Austin Street provides services and programs to help individuals transition out of homelessness.
Donate money for specific items needed by this homeless shelter, such as coffee, socks, underwear, and trash bags. Pick up an envelope from the display in the narthex or the church office and drop in the offering plate on Sunday or return to office. Make checks payable to FUMC with memo “Austin Street” or you can TEXT 2 GIVE. Text to 73256 with subject line as FUMCC. You will receive a link and simply follow the instructions.
