Children’s Ministries

At FUMC Coppell, we believe in upholding children as sacred gifts from God. We teach children that Christ calls all of us, no matter how old we are, to serve others in God’s love. Below are a few of the Children’s Ministries annual events.  We look forward to seeing you at these events, either as a participant, or a volunteer, or both!

Created by God – November 3-4, 2017

The Created by God Seminar  for 5th and 6th grade students will be held November 3-4, 2017 in the Rotunda at FUMC Coppell.  The seminar will be led by Kathy Braem, the Children’s minister at FUMC Coppell, who is a trained and certified facilitator of Created by God in the North Texas UMC Conference.

This important seminar will focus on God’s gift of human sexuality from a Christian perspective. God created humankind and declared it was good. Come learn why our bodies changing can be such a wonderful experience. Created by God thoroughly addresses the basics of growth and sexual development.

Important Dates for Created by God:

Wednesday, November 1 (6:30-7:30 p.m.): Parent meeting: One parent from each home MUST attend. (Table leaders will meet with Kathy Braem for a few minutes after the meeting.)

Friday, November 3 (6:30-8:30 p.m.): Opening session for students and table leaders.

Saturday, November 4 (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.): Second session for students and table leaders. (Please do not double-book your child for any of this time period. It’s important they are here for the entire session.)

The cost for each student is $50, which includes the seminar, supplies, Saturday lunch, and a student book. Scholarships are available for those in need.
