The goal of Children’s Ministries is to provide children (birth – 5th grade) and their families with opportunities to experience God’s love and grace, and to identify ways that they may live as faithful disciples in the world.

“Let the little children come and do not hinder them, for to such belong the kingdom of God!” Matthew 19:14

These familiar words remind us that children are a part of God’s plan. Jesus called the children forward to sit on his knee and hear stories of love, acceptance, and forgiveness. That’s why we invite you to join in worship with your children. We provide the following for children of all ages during a worship service:

  • Children’s activity sheets, colors, books, etc. are located just outside the main entrance to the Sanctuary. Children are free to pick one up each Sunday and return to the basket following the worship service.
  • Children’s books are also available in the Family Lounge and nursery for check out.
  • Children’s Time during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services welcomes kids of all ages to come forward and share in a message designed just for them.
  • Children’s Sunday School: A child’s faith is developed through interacting with adults of faith. Faith cannot be taught – it must be caught! At 9:45 a.m., we use Deep Blue curriculum. Preschool – kindergarten children have music gathering every Sunday during the school year. Our 1st – 5th graders gather for a large group time, which includes music and a theme lesson, before they break into small group sessions for application of the main story lesson. At 11 a.m., we offer a second opportunity for learning. You can choose to check your child in at 11 a.m. for Sunday school using the Deep Blue curriculum, or your child may participate in worship and then exit the Sanctuary after Children’s Time to check them in for the second Sunday School hour.

We provide a variety of activities for children throughout the year–during the week and on Sunday. Come check us out! For more information,  call the church office at 972-462-0471 or email: kbraem@fumccoppell.org.
