The goal of Children’s Ministries is to provide children and their families with opportunities to experience God’s love and grace, and to identify ways that they may live as faithful disciples in the world.
“Let the little children come and do not hinder them, for to such belong the kingdom of God!”
These familiar words remind us that children are a part of God’s plan. Jesus himself called the children forward to sit on his knee and hear stories of love, acceptance and forgiveness. That’s why we invite you to join in worship with your children. In worship, we provide the following for children:
- Children’s activity sheets, colors and more for children of all ages are located just outside the main entrance to the Sanctuary. Children are free to pick one up each Sunday and return it to the basket following the worship service.
- Children’s books are available for worship located just outside the main entrance to the Sanctuary. Children are free to pick one up each Sunday and return to the basket following the worship service. We also have books available in the family lounge (former youth lounge) and in the nursery for children to check out and look at.
- Children’s time is a special time in the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services for children of all ages to come forward and share in a message meant just for them.
- Children’s Sunday School: A child’s faith is developed through interacting with adults of faith. Faith cannot be taught it must be caught! At 9:45 a.m., we use Deep Blue curriculum. Preschool-Kindergarten have music gathering every Sunday during the school year. Our 1st – 5th graders gather for a large group time with music and a theme lesson, then break into their small group breakout session with their small group leaders for application of the main story lesson. At 11:00 a.m., we have a second opportunity for learning. You can choose to check your child in at 11:00 a.m. for Sunday school using the Deep Blue curriculum or you can have your child participate in worship and then exit the Sanctuary after children’s time and check them into the second Sunday School hour.
Because children and their families are so important to us, we provide a variety of activities for children of all ages. From birth through the fifth grade, weekday and Sunday activities are planned especially with families in mind.
So come and check us out!
