FUMC Coppell is here for you!

Grief and Healing Support Group

A six-week support group for persons who have experienced the painful death of a loved one – to work through the grief process, grow through the loss, and find support from others.

  • new group TBD
  • 2:30 – 4 p.m.
  • $15 suggested donation for book, “How to Go on Living When Someone You Love Dies,” by Theresa A. Rando
  • Led by Carol Sheer and Ron Harrison

*We may offer a grief group for children whose parent(s) are attending  the adult grief group at the same time, if we have enough for a group to make.  Sign up required at least one week prior to the group beginning.  To register, call the church at 972-462-0471.

Caregiving Heroes

For all those who share the challenges, questions and emotional issues which accompany dealing with aging parents.

  • 1st Wednesday of each month, 7 p.m.
  • Room 302 off Wesley Fellowship Hall
  • Contact: Marilyn Horton at marhorton@gmail.com

At the February 1 meeting, we will have a guest speaker in Room 306. Lorna Bell, a hospice nurse, will talk about “What to Expect at Journey’s End.” She will explain the dying process through a timeline of usual physical as well as non-physical benchmarks. Recognizing these steps helps de-mystify what our loved ones may be experiencing physically and spiritually.

Reclaiming Life

This ongoing support group is for persons going through difficult life situations and/or living with depression.  Discover that you’re not alone.  Hear again that you are a beloved child of God.  Get support from others on the journey.

Church Members? Do you need help with small tasks, 15 minutes or less? (And do not have family nearby who can help). Lend-A-Hand volunteers are given the requests on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month and will coordinate a time within that week that is mutually convenient. However, urgent or time sensitive tasks will be accommodated if possible.
