Youth Music Opportunities
Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Jesus’ Posse (FUMC’s Student Handbells) and God Squad (FUMC’s Student Choir) are working hard to prepare for worship! Jesus’ Posse at 4 p.m., God Squad at 4:30 p.m.! Bring a friend! We only meet for thirty minutes and WE NEED YOU! Contact Anastasia Markina at firstname.lastname@example.org or Deanna Goodman at email@example.com for more information.
Come and be a part of this group that explores worshiping God through our musical talents! Our Youth Choir is for serious musicians as well as those “who can’t carry a tune” and everyone in between! Come join us each week as the Youth Choir meet Sundays at 4:30 – 5 p.m. (immediately following Handbells). The Youth Choir sings in traditional worship each month. We sing a variety of music and enjoy fun and fellowship time together. We encourage students to come be a part of serving God and our church community! For more information contact Anastasia Markina at 972-462-0471 ext. 216 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have a youth handbells choir for Middle School and High School students that meets each Sunday from 4 – 4:30 p.m. (just before Youth Choir). Music reading is a plus, but anyone is welcome to come ring. Rehearsals resume January 13 . For more information please contact Deanna Goodman at email@example.com.
Selah is used in the Bible in Psalms and Habakkuk and generally means “musical interlude.” Selah is FUMC’s instrumental wind, string, and percussion ensemble and is looking for players of all levels, interests, and expertise! The group is open to all musicians, grades 7 and above, and any adults with a background in instrumental music. All instruments are welcome and this is a non-audition group!
We are ESPECIALLY looking for Middle and High School students to participate in this great area of worship! Selah rehearses Sunday afternoons at 11:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The group plays monthly for Traditional worship services (including hymns, service music, choir accompaniments, and orchestral features) and also plays for special services including Patriotic and Christmas Pops Concerts. Members also are encouraged to share their talents individually or in small ensembles to enhance worship. For more information contact Anastasia Markina at 972-462-0471 ext. 216.
