Youth Choir

Come and be a part of this group that explores worshiping God through our musical talents!  Our Youth Choir is for serious musicians as well as those “who can’t carry a tune” and everyone in between!  Come join us each week as the Youth Choir meet Sundays  at 4:30 – 5 p.m. (immediately following Handbells).  The Youth Choir sings in traditional worship each month. We sing a variety of music and enjoy fun and fellowship time together.  We encourage students to come be a part of serving God and our church community! Selah is used in the Bible in Psalms and Habakkuk and generally means “musical interlude.”  Selah is FUMC’s instrumental wind, string, and percussion ensemble and is looking for players of all levels, interests, and expertise!  The group is open to all musicians, grades 7 and above, and any adults with a background in instrumental music.  All instruments are welcome and this is a non-audition group!

We are ESPECIALLY looking for Middle and High School students to participate in this great area of worship!  Selah rehearses Sunday afternoons at 11:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The group plays monthly for Traditional worship services (including hymns, service music, choir accompaniments, and orchestral features) and also plays for special services including Patriotic and Christmas Pops Concerts.  Members also are encouraged to share their talents individually or in small ensembles to enhance worship. For more information contact Anastasia Markina at 972-462-0471 ext. 216.
