Student Ministries at First United Methodist Church of Coppell exists to create lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ and all students in the sixth through twelfth grades are invited to join us in growing their relationship with God and others. We are always looking for ways to minister to the youth of our community, and believe that students are an important part of ministering to other students. We hope that you will come and find a place that enriches your life and your faith. Don’t hesitate to bring your friends with you!
“Let us consider how to inspire each other to greater love and to righteous deeds, not forgetting to gather as a community, as some have forgotten, but encouraging each other especially as the day of His return approaches.” -Hebrews 10:24-25 (The Voice Translation)
We believe that it is important to come together as a community in small groups for study in conversation and also for communal worship.
“Do not allow this world to mold you in it’s own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing and complete.” -Romans 12:2 (The Voice Translation)
In Student Ministries we expect God to show up. We want to not only be a ministry that is transformed by God but also to be individuals whose hearts are transformed in order to see the world the way God does.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20 (New Revised Standard Version)
We want our students to have a faith that is theirs. During their time in Student Ministries we want them to be equipped so that by the time they graduate high school they feel empowered to go out into the world and live a life that glorifies Christ in all that they do.
