Adult Sunday School

Our vision is to help people look to Jesus and look like Jesus. Our primary way of helping people to become disciples, or followers of Jesus, is our Pathway to Discipleship, an intensive program that leads people through meeting Jesus, learning Jesus’ message and then living out their calling in the world. Along this or any journey of discipleship, it is important to gather with other Christians for mutual support, Bible study, and shared mission and ministry.

All classes meet Sunday morning from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Epiphany  and Elevate Overtime classes meet from 11 a.m.– noon in the Ministry Center.

  • Allcomers Class - Room 316 / Library

This class uses Bible-based studies with a Wesleyan approach to see the connection between social issues and our faith. We enjoy frequent, fun fellowship as well as provide support for members’ life changes and challenges. We strive to embody God’s grace in our church, our community, and the world. Single and married class members, mostly over age 50, love to welcome “All Comers” to join us!

  • Connections Class - Room 305

This class is a community of adults, 30s – 40s, who actively build relationships with each other as they walk through life together. They support each other as they continue to build their faith through service, fellowship and meaningful discussions.

  • Foundations Class - Room 309

This class, late 50s and up, empty nesters, is the second oldest established class at FUMCC. We have been around since 1997 and are celebrating our 20th year. The class studies Scripture, historical context around Scripture, as well as contemporary writers of our time. Members also lead class lessons with participation/discussion from all the members.

  • Grace & Peace Class - Room 310

Composed of married and single adults of all ages, this class focuses on faith and discipleship in everyday life through discussion and studies. Mission and social activities help members serve their community and build lasting relationships within the church family.

  • Parenting in Faith Class - Room 302

This class, for ages 30s to 50s, focuses on the application of Christian discipleship in weekly lessons on contemporary issues, family life, and Bible study. Real family challenges are shared in a safe environment and wisdom gained from each other. The class participates in various service missions of the church, including quarterly Austin Street meal delivery. This fun group gathers socially to celebrate birthdays, Coppell HS football, and an annual white elephant Christmas Party is a “can’t miss” event. Joining this class can be a gateway for those who have an interest in other roles in the church.

  • Providence Class - Room 308

The mission of this class is to provide an opportunity to explore lives in an imperfect world through Bible study and other relevant books and studies. Class members strive to support not only one another, but also the church and community. This group of middle age (but young at heart!) couples and singles are at various stages of their faith journey and welcome and encourage anyone to share the walk with them. Ages 45-65; mostly empty nesters

  • Seekers Class - Room 306

This class of all ages enjoys laughter and lively discussion of books and videos by contemporary Christian authors. This warm, welcoming group seeks to celebrate their faith journey. Relaxed atmosphere, timely topics, long on fellowship and support!

  • Trinity Class - Room 312

Most members of this class have from six to nine decades of life experience. There is great diversity of knowledge; faith journeys (of many denominations), and life history. These are faithful servants of God and fun-loving persons ready to share and participate in Christian fellowship.

  • Elevate Overtime - Ministry Center

Dig a little deeper into the weekly sermon following the Elevate Worship Service. Adults (of all ages and life stages) gather for conversation and share in discussion. Jump in anytime as this group is always parallel with the current Community Study. Elevate Overtime is a great meetup for visitors or those that have not had a chance to engage with small groups.

  • Epiphany - Blue Room in Ministry Center

Everyone is welcome to this group that meets together to deepen their faith through in-depth challenging studies and discussions, service, and fellowship. The group is open to anyone and is currently mainly composed of couples in their 30s-40s. Studies alternate between a book of the Bible and a Christian study book.
