S.O.A.P. – “Washed by the Word” (Ephesians 5:27)

The S.O.A.P. approach to Bible study was popularized by Bishop Dick Wills in his addresses to North Texas Clergy retreats over the past few years.  He advocated reading a portion of Scripture (2-3 chapters) and then selecting a theme Scripture that stands out, then making Observations, Applications, and then writing a Prayer for the day.  This simple and straightforward method will be used by our staff as we blog through our Bible readings during the season of Lent.  Feel free to read and share with others, or even try your hand with the S.O.A.P. approach to Bible reading.  Blessings!
