Piecemakers is group of FUMC Coppell women who work together on sewing and/or quilting projects to help others. The group makes dresses for girls in inpoverished areas of the world (Dress a Girl and Mission: Africa) and quilts to benefit Project Linus, a program local critically ill or traumatized children.
Every two years, MD Anderson Cancer Center sponsors an online quilt auction to raise funds for ovarian cancer research and awareness. The auction coincides with the International Quilt Show in Houston, TX. FUMC Piecemakers is proud to have donated a quilt titled “Garden View” (#107) to the auction this year, which runs from October 25 – November 8, 2017. The quilt was constructed by the Piecemakers from fabrics generously donated to us. This is our second quilt donation to the Ovarian Cancer Quilt Auction. In 2015, our quilt, “Twinkle,” raised $425 for this charity. All of the quilts may be viewed online.
